Juicy taste of wine and exquisite. Fruity taste is complemented by notes of flowers, sweet spices and oak, with lively acidity, great structure and balance, with a lovely long finish.

Interesting Facts
Wine Volpaia Chianti Classico DOCG is made from Sangiovese grapes with a little Syrah and Merlot, assembled with vines growing on sandy soils with a large addition of limestone at an altitude of 440 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes. Yeast fermented for 14 days at a controlled temperature, with stirring everyday twice a day for a better quality of wine. In late January and early February, the wine moved in Slavonian oak barrels, where was aged 14 months. Vintage 2009 is considered one of the best young Chianti Classico lately.
Volpaya Castle (Castello di Volpaia) was built in the eleventh century, far from strengthening in order to create on the border of Florence and Siena. At present, there remain only two of the six ancient towers and part of the original defensive walls surrounding the castle. Nevertheless, the location of buildings in the village of Volpaia and their walls are perfectly preserved virtually intact. In addition, Volpaia - it is also the name of the famous family. Lorenzo and Benvenuto della Volpaia became famous during the Renaissance, when the inventors of different mechanisms, one of them was a friend of Leonardo da Vinci. Inventions two brothers are now known to science museums in Florence, Chicago and Greenwich. In addition to wine, the farm has been Volpayya still producing olive oil, honey and vinegar.
