Company Sichel (Sishel) was founded back in 1883, when the family moved to Bordeaux Sishel, and decided to take her head negotsiantskim business (before the family traveled a lot throughout Europe). Great-grandson of the founder, the Englishman Peter Sishel, arrived in Bordeaux in 1960 and 12 years later he was elected President of the Association of Wine Merchants Bordeaux in 1972. Finally, Peter founded in Bordeaux after meeting with his wife Diane. One of the important achievements of Peter was the restoration of the old estates in Margaux, Chateau d'Angludet, acquired in 1961. In addition, he was a major shareholder of Chateau Palmer, in which in 1938 made considerable investment by his father - Allan Sishelem and three other families. Peter gained fame as one of the most respected people in Bordeaux; in fact, he was one of the first wine merchant, who became the winemaker.
