Vineyards that are now owned by the winery Schloss Gobelsburg, were defeated in 1171 by Cistercian monks from the monastery of Zwettl. After the fire at the winery Kammern in 1786, they were transferred to Schloss Gobelsburg. Since 1996, the winery run by Eva and Michael Moosbrugger. Farm with 60 acres of some of the best vineyards of Austria, located on the terraces of Heiligenstein and Gaisberg, as well as between the two hills in the valley town of Grub. Each vineyard has unique properties of the soil and microclimate. The most important for the economy are the varieties Grüner Veltliner (50%) and Riesling (25%), which proved to be the most suitable for the structure of the surrounding soil. Low yields and rigorous selection using sorting tables provide a high level of quality grapes and wines produced from it. In 2006, Michael Moosbrugger was called wine edition of "Falstaff" the best winemaker in Austria, he also repeatedly won the prize for best "Gruner Veltliner" and other wines.
