Wine dense, impermeable bright red color.
The taste of wine is balanced and fresh, with good texture, notes persimmons, figs, roasted nuts and freshly baked Portuguese cake with excellent tannins and a wonderfully long finish.
The wine has a wonderful, complex aroma, in which a plurality of notes and shades harmoniously intertwined. Notes of soy, cola and peat are connected with hints of black licorice, seaweed, sesame and quince. Light nuances of mocha and chocolate tones complemented by African spices.
Wine matches perfectly with red meat, especially beef, as well as game, stewed bull tails, duck, vegetables and mature cheeses.
The first vintage of wine "grunge" was made on an experimental basis in 1951. The impetus for its production of Max Schubert was the trip to France, after which the winemaker decided to create a wine that would be able to compete with the best Bordeaux wines not only taste characteristics, but also the potential exposure. Initially, efforts were met Schubert number of difficulties and ridiculed by their peers. But winemaker did not retreat. Today wine "Grange", expressing the unique Australian style, recognized as one of the greatest wines in the world, each vintage is looking forward to the whole world. Vintage 2007 is made of grape varieties Shiraz (97%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), grown in the historic site "Magill" and exceptional vineyards in the Barossa Valley and Kunavorre. Cold winter and low rainfall in 2007 led to low yields, but thanks to an unusually warm summer fully ripe berries, having incorporated the best varietal characteristics. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 21 months in carefully selected barrels exclusively from the new American oak. The unique structure allows the wine to keep it for decades. Vintage 2007 requires some patience and has a great future - at the peak of wine "Grunge" will be tentatively in 2017 and at least until the 2031 th.
