Beer "Betelgeuze" Mikkeller was created in collaboration with That Ol on Belgian brewery De Proefbrouwerij. This is not the first collaboration Mikkel Borg Bergso with his disciples, founded the brewery That Ol. The highlight of ale "Betelgeuse" is to use in its formulation twelve hop varieties (Citra, Centennial, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, Columbus, Tomahawk, Tettnang, Belma, Mandarina Bavaria, Calypso, Bravo), an abundance of which is like an explosion of Betelgeuse. But do not expect the incredible beer bitter taste of beer is very Pitka boasts a subtlety of execution. After a spontaneous fermentation beer was aged for six months in oak barrels, hence the appearance of taste and aroma "Betelgeuse" woody notes.
In 2006, mathematics and physics teacher Mikkel Borg Bergso with his friend Christian Keller began experimenting in his kitchen in Copenhagen with hops, malt and yeast. The first experiment was the manufacture of friends "clone" of the Danish beer Brøckhouse IPA. The result of their work friends brought their favorite beer club where they created a beer won a blind test. This inspired friends, they began to create their own recipes and have won several medals on home brewing competitions at the national Danish beer festival. Kitchen experiments lasted two and a half years, after which it was opened Mikkeller production on a large scale. In 2007, Keller left his friend and began work as an editor of the Danish music magazine Soundvenue. Mikkel also went on his way. Today he brews beer for the best and most prestigious restaurants in Denmark, is working with US distributors, and exports its products to 40 different countries. At the international level Mikkeller recognized as one of the most innovative and advanced breweries.
