Interesting Facts
Longrow whiskey produced since 1973. The first distillation was carried out as an experiment to prove that it is possible to make single malt whiskey Islay style and on the mainland. This experiment was a success. The result is a very special whiskey peat, which immediately gained popularity and became an important part of the company's line of "J & A Mitchell". His name was in honor of whiskey old factory Longrow. Barley used in the production of "Longrow" completely dried on peat smoke, which gives a wonderful whiskey peaty character and delicate smokiness. After double-distilled whiskey matured in wooden barrels, 60% of which - from the sherry and 40% - of bourbon.
Springbank Distillery is located on the west coast of Scotland. It was built by the brothers Archibald and Hugh Mitchell in 1828. Unlike its nearest neighbor - Glen Scotia - Springbank never changed hands. The plant is currently owned by "J & A Mitchell", which aims at restoring the once great whiskey region Campbeltown. Today, the company produces four excellent whiskey: Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn and Kilkerran.
