The wine is dark ruby color.

The wine has a complex and rich bouquet, in which shades of cherries, cranberries and currants are combined with aromas of sweet pastries. At the finish is dominated by notes of white pepper, blackberry and rose petals.

2011 season was cool and rainy, with the result that budding and flowering started later than usual. The summer months were characterized by moderate temperatures, but in September was sunny enough to complete the uniform ripening. Due to the long growing season, grapes acquired a perfect balance of acidity and sugar, and created from it the wine has a complex, elegant taste and a long, juicy finish. Harvesting was carried out in the period from September 28 to October 12, exclusively in the morning time, then gathered berries carefully sorted. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks. Extract of wine in French oak barrels, of which 40% - new, and 60% were two or three-year barrels, lasted 14 months. Bottling was made on 11-12 February 2013.
The famous Napa Valley winemaker Joe Phelps for years sought the appropriate land for planting two great grape varieties - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 1999, together with his son Bill and the management team of the winery "Joseph Phelps" has acquired a former dairy farm, occupies about 100 acres in Sonoma Freestone on the coast. Start of development of these lands were divided three sections - "Freestone", "Quarter Moon" and "Ferguson", each of which has its own characteristics. 80 acres were brought to Pinot Noir, 20 acres - a Chardonnay. By 2007, the new building was constructed winery "Freestone" acquired new sites.
