The current owner of Domaine Jean Chartron - Jean-Michel Chartrons is a member of the fifth generation of the famous Burgundy wine dynasty. The domain was founded in 1859 by great-grandfather, Jean-Michel named Jean-Edouard Dyupard, who was involved in winemaking and cooperage. At that time, due to a lack of underground cellars of the main part of the wine sold in barrels merchants and wine Domaine Jean Chartrons were bought mostly by German traders.
