History Domaine Arlaud economy began when Joseph Arlaud (originally Ardechois) married a native of Burgundy, Renée Amiot, during the Second World War. Renée relatives wedding gifts were priceless vineyards, where Joseph and spent all his time from 1949 to 1970, working with the vines. In 1966, he bought an old cellar "Grenier à sel" in Nuits Saint Georges. This wonderful cellar of the 14th century became the emblem of the winery and still is depicted on the labels. Hervé Arlaud succeeded his father in 1982 and expanded the farm ownership.

In 1999, we completely stopped using herbicides. This strongly affects the life of the soil and pollute ground water. Thus, we have significantly reduced the impact of chemistry on our vineyards. In 2007 the company was certified "Qualité France", it was the first stage in the development of biological farming. In 2009 began the adaptation of biodynamic practices in the vineyard. The aim is to restore the soil and finding a balance between the vines and other plants, which from now on are not destroyed. Since 2014 the wine sector domain Arlo officially certified as organic and biodynamic.
