Interesting Facts

The range of wines "Culemborg" was named in honor of Jan van Riebeeck, who was born in the Dutch town of Culemborg. In June 1651 Jan van Riebeeck was appointed the first governor of the Cape, he established a station on the southern tip of Africa, providing a passing ships with fresh food and water, was the first who planted vines in South Africa in 1655. The line "Culemborg" includes a wide range of wines that have good quality at an affordable price and to convey the true taste of grapes from different regions of South Africa.

"Culemborg" Cape Red, has rich notes of jam of the summer fruits and complex hints of spice, created from red grapes harvested in different areas of the Western Cape. Harvest each area separately vinified, aged briefly in oak barrels, and then blended to give a stylish, versatile wine.
