Collio Sauvignon wine made from grapes Sauvignon Blanc grown in vineyards located in the Collio DOC in the municipalities of San Floriano, defame and Cormons at a height of 80-250 meters above sea level. Soil hilly area of Collio formed during the Eocene. They consist of layers of limestone and clay, which were once at the bottom of the ocean, and are rich in mineral deposits. These soils almost impenetrable rain water runs off the surface, creating a small erosion and preventing the formation of standing water. Breezes from the sea, located twenty kilometers from the vineyards, and the nearby Alps cooled grapes after a warm sunny day. All this creates an ideal environment for the production of well-structured wines.
