Schweppes company in 1783 founded a watchmaker, an amateur scientist of Swiss origin Johann Jacob Schweppe. Taking the carbonization process water, discovered in 1770 by Joseph Priestley, Schweppe refined and patented his own way to create a mineral water. In 1792 Schweppe moved to London, where he received the opportunity to develop their business. Schweppe not only opened a factory, but also became the supplier of the court of Her Majesty.
