Wine Clos de L'Oratoire, 2002
The wine is dark cherry color.
Seductive taste of wine, juicy, rich, fleshy notes of ripe fruit, soft texture, moderate tannins and a long finish.
The aroma of wine reveals smoky herbal notes, shades of black currants, cherries, licorice and incense.
The wine will be the perfect pair of dishes of meat, game and mature cheeses, deli meats, lamb and rabbit.
Vintage 2002 was collected by hand in small boxes in a double degree full maturity from September 28 to October 6, with 35-year old vines, the yield of which is limited to 27 hectoliters per hectare. Vintage not be crushed, but was double selection. Fermentation was carried out in wooden vats at a controlled temperature and lasted 22 days. The wine is aged in oak barrels, of which 80% - a new, on the lees for 18 months, after which it was bottled without filtration.
Old family owner of "Les Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg" - Count Stephan von Neypperg - leads his line from the nobility of the Holy Roman Empire. Its representatives were famous generals and diplomats, and on the XII century - and winemakers, founded in Württemberg winery "Le Comte von Neipperg", covering 30 villages. In 1971, Joseph-Hubert von Neypperg decided to invest in the famous Bordeaux vineyards. He immediately bought four plots in the region of Saint-Emilion: Canon La Gaffeliere, La Mondotte, Clos de l'Oratoire and Chateau Peyreau. More than ten years, until 1983, these lands were not exploited and were under the supervision of a manager. In 1983, Earl offered one of their eight children - Stefan von Neyppergu - to take over the leadership of Canon La Gaffele. Stefan was then 26 years old, he had a lot of experience in the field of economics, management and agronomy, acquired in Germany, Paris and Montpellier, and most importantly - his shoulders were vosmivekovye family tradition of winemaking. Each terroir Stefan is with great love and understanding of differences between them. All work carried out in the vineyards using biodynamic methods and approach to winemaking is based on the flexibility to achieve the best expression of each terroir, variety and vintage.
