History Charles de Fere began in 1980 when the innovator, a winemaker from Champagne in the sixth generation, Jean-Louis opened his own winery sparkling wine in a town called Fere-en-Tardois, located on the border with Champagne. Call the winery Jean-Louis decides to honor his son Charles. Thus, the name of the plant to get an easy, memorable and with a sense as "Charles de Fere" literally means "from Charles Fehr."
