Wine Aloxe-Corton AOC, 2009 is made from Pinot Noir from vineyards located in the area of Aloxe-Corton in the Côte d'Or. The word "Aloxe", presumably, is the Gallic man's name, which is the root of "Al" is translated as "soil pale color." The second word - Corton - most likely comes from two words: Curtis (meaning in the language of the Franks "estate") and Othonis (the name of the Roman emperor, in whose honor was named the estate).
Wines from Aloxe-Corton - one of the most long-lived and slow-growing wines in Burgundy. Because of this, they are less popular than the fast-maturing wines neighboring Bona and Savigny-les-Beaune. However, after 10-15 years of wine "Aloxe-Corton" acquires fullness, softness and rich fruit that will appreciate any connoisseurs of high-quality red wines.
