Unlike other vintages of the "Pietradonice 2003" along with Cabernet Sauvignon includes Sangiovese, whereas other vintages - monosortovye are made only from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested in two stages: first, on September 2-3 in the degree of full maturity was harvested Cabernet, and on September 18 - Sangiovese. Fermentation and maceration lasted 15 days for Cabernet, 18 days - for Sangiovese. The wine aged in 225-liter oak casks of French, of which about half - new, for 18 months. Winery "Casanova di Neri" was founded in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate in Montalcino, in an area famous for excellent conditions for growing grapes and creating great wines. The estate belonged to 35 hectares of vineyards. Gradually Giovanni Neri join him and other lands.
