Interesting Facts
"Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto" made from Sangiovese grown in the vineyard of the same name in the eastern part of Montalcino, which is located in a natural amphitheater on the river Aso. Thanks to the microclimate, soil, low yield vines and more attention of winemakers, wine has a unique character and an excellent balance of taste. This wine is produced every year, but only in the seasons when the crops were deemed to be committed. Being a very late ripening variety, Sangiovese harvested in mid- to late October. Fermentation and maceration lasts 19 days. After that, the wine matures in small French oak barrels for 27 months and then 30 months in bottles. This wine is a very long storage potential, it can develop its rich aroma and amazing taste over the years.
Winery "Casanova di Neri" was founded in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate in Montalcino, in an area famous for excellent conditions for growing grapes and creating great wines. Gradually Giovanni Neri join him and other lands, so today the winery has a total of about 60 hectares, which are divided into four vineyard: "Petradoniche", which is located in Castelnuovo del Abate, "Le Cetin" in Sant'Angelo in Colle, "Cherretalto" and "Fiesole" to the east, near the farm, in front of Montalcino. Which lie on different slopes of Montalcino vineyards are influenced by the radical differences in the soil, microclimate, environment, flora. Each wine "Casanova di Neri" reflects these differences and has an individual character and a consistently high quality. The total area of the estate "Casanova di Neri" is 350 hectares of vineyards are planted in addition to olive groves.
