Tasting Notes


Wine, ruby-red color.


The taste of wine is fresh, balanced, mineral, with notes of spices, fresh fruits and berries. A long, pleasant aftertaste filled with nuances of mulberry.


Very rich aroma of wine is made up of shades of red and black berries (cherries, strawberries, currants, blueberries) and spices (cinnamon and vanilla).


The wine goes well with hot meat dishes, especially lamb, meats and cheeses and fruit.

"Campo Ceni" - a very attractive wine combines the youth and freshness of fruit with the power, wealth, and maturity. In 2011 the blend along with the dominant Sangiovese and Merlot present part of Cabernet Sauvignon. 2011 season was characterized by mild winters, mild and rainy early spring, hot summer months, which managed to survive thanks to a good supply of water in the soil, to ensure normal development of plants. Warm September finished ripening grapes. After the 16-day maceration at controlled temperature 24-27 ° C, matured wine for 6 months in large oak barrels (80%) and steel containers (20%) and not more than 2 months - bottled.

Ricasoli family has ancient roots and is the fourth oldest in the world of family businesses. It is also the oldest company in Italy - Ricasoli family owns the castle Castello di Brolio with 1141. Ricasoli were among the first who devoted himself to the development of agriculture and viticulture. It is known that since the late 1600's, the family made the first export in Amsterdam and England.
