Tasting Notes


Wine is very bright, brilliant scarlet.

Interesting Facts

"Chateau Tour De Segur", 2011 - red wine from the grapes of three varieties: Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). In 2011, from February to June, the air temperature on average was higher than in past years. Precipitation is not pleased with abundance, and in late spring were even hints of drought. All these unfavorable factors, fortunately, did not affect the quality of the grapes and, in the future, wine. Thanks to the excellent and well-coordinated work of winemakers vintage 2011 gained excellent performance: fabulous, shimmering color, rounded flavor with hints of ripe red berries, alluring and appetizing aroma with hints of strawberry and cherry. The best period for consumption of wine - 2013-2021 years. The drink is perfect for grilled white meat, red meat, pork fillet, cheese and lettuce.

Chateau de Barbe Blanche has a very long history. Once it was inherited by Henry IV of Navarre from his mother and even then are made into excellent wine, popular among the nobility. In the XVIII century Chateau belonged to the family lawyer Bordeaux Parliament - Mr. Feb. Vineyards Chateau occupy 28 hectares in the center appellasona Lussac-Saint-Emilion. Excavations nearby Gallo-Roman villa Lucciacus indicate early culture of the vine in this area. In 2000, André Lurton acquired a 50% stake in Chateau. Wine Château de Barbe Blanche - the same name "Chateau de Barbe Blanche" and "Châteaux Prieuré Lalande" and "Châteaux Tour de Ségur" - are based on Merlot grapes. These wines are characterized by rounded, flexible and great finesse.

Lurton family, known in Bordeaux as a wine producer from 1650 - one of the greatest dynasties in the world, whose members are engaged in winemaking and wine trade. To date, the family owns about 630 acres of land. Wineries are located in the Entre-Deux-Mers, Pessac-Leognan, Margaux, Lussac Saint-Emilion and elsewhere.
