Riesling Alsace Grand Cru AOC Sommerberg - beautiful vibrant wine with a refreshing taste, good acidity, bright penetrating aroma. In the vineyards Sommerberg grown grapes for fine wines - Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat, but the most famous varieties of this terroir is Riesling. Sommerberg - vineyard, known since the beginning of XI century - is located on the eastern slopes of the granite mountains of the Vosges, where the upper soil layers contain a high proportion of granite sand and rich in minerals. Sommerberg is one of the driest vineyards in Alsace. This is not surprising, as the area has a continental climate type, characterized by particularly low rainfall, dry and warm summers and fairly cold winters, and the mountains provide protection from the prevailing westerly winds.
Winery "Albert Boksler" - the family winery in the small town of Niedermorschwihr with a 300-year history. Currently, the company operates a grandson of Albert - Jean Boksler trained viticulture in one of the best French universities - the University of Montpellier. Back home in the mid-90s, Jean succeeded his father in the winery and in 1995 received his first crop. Economy "Albert Boksler" small, work here only 7 people - Jean, his parents, his wife and three workers. The winery is located in a historic building built in 1619. Here Bokslery live and work. Family Vineyards occupy 13 hectares around Niedermorschwihr. 80% of the vineyards are classified as Grand Cru, among them - the famous Sommerberg and Brand. Jean Boksler very carefully refers to the vineyards and vines growing with organic methods. His favorite variety is Riesling with great texture and fragrant Pinot Gris. Boksler annually produces about 5,000 bottles. Magazine "France Magazine 2007" wrote about the wines Albert Boxler, that "it is one of the most interesting wines of Alsace exclusively from grapes from their own vineyards. All Rieslings Bokslera very intense in flavor and structured, with an abundance of fine acidity."
Jean Boksler himself says: "My fault - not a classic and modern. My style - natural. Nature makes the wine, not me. We do not cater to customers, we work with the earth and care about its safety. It is an old tradition in our home."
